Nurse opening the door to new possibilities

New Nurse Graduate Transition to Practice Program

Our comprehensive six-month program was created to facilitate the smooth transition of newly licensed registered nurses into the dynamic setting of acute and ambulatory care, empowering them to evolve into seasoned professional nurses. Moreover, our program extends its reach by providing fellowships, enabling experienced RNs to seamlessly shift their expertise into a different specialty.

Summer 2024 New Grad Transition to Practice Cohort

Opportunities are available at all five (5) of our locations (Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Lincoln City and Newport) for our summer 2024 cohort. The summer cohort begins on August 12, with a second cohort beginning on October 21. Interviews for all locations will take place on the following dates:

Tuesday, May 7

Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital

Thursday, May 9

Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital

Designed to empower new nurses as they transition from the theoretical realm of the classroom to the practical realm of hands-on patient care, our meticulously structured curriculum includes immersive, interdisciplinary classroom training and a personalized preceptor-guided clinical experience. Both the didactic and clinical components place a strong emphasis on equipping participants with the requisite skills and knowledge to bridge the gap between academic training and real-world practice.

  • Graduated within 12 months of application and less than six months of acute care RN experience.
  • Hold an unencumbered license in the state of Oregon.
